Associate Degree

The Gloucester County College at Sewell, New Jersey, offers an Associate in Applied Science Degree in paralegal studies. The paralegal studies program covers all the relevant topics required to be known by a paralegal in his profession.

The course intensively covers subjects of importance such as Litigation and Civil Procedure, Legal Research and Writing, Legal Document Preparation and Property Transactions. The program aims at training students to be able to compile and analyze facts pertaining to a case, draft legal documents and prepare witnesses for legal proceedings. A paralegal needs to perform these tasks and more under the supervision of an attorney as the legal assistant. It is against the law for a paralegal to practice law and to represent clients at court cases.

Gloucester County College is famous for its athletics as well as academics. They participate in National Championships in sports like men and women’s soccer, wrestling, basketball and baseball. The college also has several student clubs for recreational and learning activities such as the Accounting Club, Paralegal Club and Photography Club.

Gloucester County College was founded in 1966 and offers more than seventy programs in business, humanities and science. It is sponsored by the residents of the county through a Board of Chosen Freeholders. There are more than 6000 students enrolled in the credit courses and an extra 10,000 in the Continuing Education Division classes. The college Foundation offers scholarships and grants to students.
