Genesee Community College, founded in 1966, is a part of the State University of New York. It offers regular classroom classes as well as distance education modes of learning. It is located in a 250-acre campus and has centers in Albion, Arcade, Lakeville, Warsaw and Dansville. The college is approved by Middle States Commission on Higher Education. It also offers Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree in Paralegal Studies, which is fully approved by the American Bar Association and certified by the American Association for Paralegal Education.

Genesee Community College paralegal programs have low student/teacher ratios, and students can opt for daytime, late afternoon or evening classes. It offers Paralegal courses such as Introduction to Legal Studies, Commercial Law, Tort Law, Civil Litigation, Legal Research & Writing, Real Estate Law, Trusts and Estates, Debtor and Creditor Law, Family Law, and Paralegal Internships.

In Genesee Community College paralegal programs are taught by experienced and professionally qualified legal experts who will teach students how to prepare legal documents, research the law, search public records and how to assist in trial preparation. The internship prepares them for the work environment.

Students who successfully finish the programs can qualify for employment in law offices, insurance firms, banks and bank trust departments. Government offices and agencies as well as court systems may also employ them and abstracting firms.
