The College of Mount St.Joseph offers a Bachelorís Degree, Associateís Degree and Certificate programs in Paralegal Studies. The Paralegal Studies program has been approved by the American Bar Association since 1992.

The Paralegal Studies program aims at preparing students to become efficient legal assistants. A paralegal works under the supervision of a lawyer to perform certain legal duties, but does not have a license to practice law. The job responsibilities of a paralegal include drafting legal documents, interaction with clients and investigation of facts relating to a case.

At the College of Mount St.Joseph, the Paralegal programs cover all the theoretical as well as practical aspects of the subject. It provides a general and basic knowledge of the law, its principles and ethics. It also concentrates on specific areas which a paralegal needs to know thoroughly. The program teaches certain skills like legal writing, fact analysis and manual as well as computer based legal research. The student also learns the importance of individuals in the legal system, as professionals and as citizens.

The College of Mount St.Joseph was founded in 1920 as a catholic womenís college by the Sisters of Charity. It is now a co-educational college with over 2000 students from all over the United States and the world. The campus overlooks the Ohio River and is very close to Cincinnati, Ohio. The campus is also used for many community events like seminars, summer camps and retreats.
