Description
Vincennes University is the oldest university in the state of Indiana. Established in 1801, it is one of the two colleges in the United States to have the distinction of being founded by an American President. The university is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and caters to the academic needs of over 4000 students. The university offers undergraduate degree programs in a variety of subjects including technology, science, humanities and business. It is the only university in the country to offer a program in Bowling Management and Technology. Vincennes University is also home to a robust athletics team whose bowling team has brought home 14 NJCAA national championships till date. Students looking to establish a career as a paralegal or a legal assistant can enroll in the university's paralegal program. This two year course is approved by the American Bar Association and the university itself is a member of the American Association for Paralegal Education. The paralegal course is aimed at training students to work effectively in a law office environment, and to be well-versed in the fundamentals of the legal system. Students will learn about legal writing and research, how to gather and organize information, time management techniques, written and spoken communication skills and drafting important documents. On graduating from this course, students will be able to find employment as professional paralegals or legal assistants in insurance companies, banks and government agencies as well as law firms.
