The University of Cincinnati was established in 1819 in the state of Ohio. Holding accreditation from the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, the university offers undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programs for a variety of subjects. The university is credited with a number of firsts, including the development of the first antihistamine and oral polio vaccine.

The University of Cincinnati offers an associate degree program in paralegal technology for those interested in becoming legal assistants or paralegals. The course is approved by the American Bar Association and places its emphasis on legal technology and software that is used in legal applications.

The paralegal technology course covers a range of subjects including an introduction to information processing and the paralegal profession. Students will learn basic legal principles and how to execute legal research. The course also covers real estate law, personal injury law, business law and contracts. Students will learn how to develop their communication skills by undergoing training in public speaking as well.

The course also covers law office technology and computers. Students will learn about business organizations and corporate law as well as estates and probate, criminal and family law, litigation, tax laws, administrative litigation, business ethics, labor laws, intellectual property laws and Elder laws. A period of internship is also arranged for students before the completion of their course. For students who are balancing employment along with their academic schedule, the university has designed the course in order to help working students pursue their degree while they earn.
