Description
Pellissippi State Technical Community College was established in the year 1974 and is a member of the Tennessee Board of Regents System. It is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, to award the Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, and Associate of Applied Science degrees. Pellissippi has articulate agreements with other four-year institutions that enable students to get a bachelor's degree without leaving the institution. Financial aid is available to the students who qualify and this enables students to take up programs of their choice. The College serves more than 7000 students providing them low cost but quality education. The College offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in Paralegal Studies that has been approved by the American Bar Association. Students are offered courses such as English Composition I, Introduction to Law & Ethics, Mathematics Elective, Word/Excel/PowerPoint, Public Speaking, Legal Writing & Analysis, Legal Research, Torts, LAW Elective, Legal Terminology & Transcription, Principles of Accounting I, Property Law, Litigation Skills I, Contracts & UCC, Social/Behavioral Sciences Elective, Humanities/Fine Arts Elective, Litigation Skills II, Legal Internship, LAW Elective, and Social/Behavioral Sciences Elective. Students are taught by trained professionals who ensure that they learn to conduct research, investigations, client interviews, draft documents and have the knowledge to analyze and comprehend the data that they accumulate after researching, running a legal office etc. Successful graduates find suitable employment under the supervision of an attorney in law firms, corporate departments, government agencies, insurance firms, banks, real estate and title firms etc.
