Description
Pasadena City College was established in the year 1924 and is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The third-largest single-campus community college district in the United States, it offers 60 academic programs, 76 vocational programs and 25 lifelong learning programs. It offers day, evening and weekend classes. It has nearly 29,000 students, 420 faculty members and 685 adjunct faculty members. Pasadena City College offers a Certificate of Achievement in Paralegal studies and the program has been approved by the American Bar Association. The curriculum includes general education courses in American Institutions, Health Education, History, Physical Education, and Political Sciences. Its program in Legal Assisting, which is a part of its Business and Computer Technology Division, too is approved by the American Bar Association. The Paralegal Studies core courses includes Business Law, Legal, Wills, Trusts and Probate Administration, Property Law, Bankruptcy and Creditor’s Rights, Paralegal Studies Field Practice repeat, Family Law and Dissolution Procedures, Workers’ Compensation Law and Immigration Law. The required courses include Business Law, Introduction to Paralegal Studies, Wills, Trusts, Probate Administration, Tort Law and Claims Investigation, Legal Writing and Drafting, Paralegal Studies Field Practice, Computer Use for the Law Office, Civil and Criminal Evidence, Law Office Procedures and Ethics, Legal Research, Computer Aided Research, and Paralegal Studies Graduate Seminar. Faculty members are dedicated and well qualified individuals including practicing attorneys who are experts in their respective fields. The students find the library well stocked and useful for researching assignments. Classes are offered during fall, spring and summer. Financial aid is available making it possible for students to get the education of their choice. They may avail of aid packages such as Federal and State loans, grants and scholarships.
