A New York metropolitan area college having nearly 10,000 students on its rolls studying at 5 campuses and also having a robust online campus, Mercy College was established in 1950. Mercy College offers ABA approved certificate program in paralegal studies to enable students to become highly competent paralegals. The certificate program is offered in spring, summer, and fall, either as a five-and-half month day program or nine-and-half month evening program. You need to be a graduate from a recognized university in order to get admission in the paralegal certificate program of Mercy College. Besides this, you should have at least 60 college credits. Group Program The Paralegal Studies Certificate program offered by Mercy College is a group program where you have to take course compulsorily, not by choice. The program courses include Introduction to the Paralegal Profession, Litigation and Trial Preparation, Legal Research and Writing, Trusts and Estates, Real Estate, Criminal Law, Matrimonial Law, Computers and the Law, Probate, Business Organizations, Career Planning, Legal Ethics, Notary Public Seminar, and Advanced Seminar. The course curriculum is of 337 clock-hour duration. The professors teaching the courses are all practicing attorneys, paralegals, or judges. They are experts in their field of specialization.
