Description

Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan was established in 1946. It has a unique Legal Management program which offers five different career tracks to choose from. These tracks are Paralegal/Legal Assistant, Legal Administration Management, Business Management with Legal Emphasis, Paralegal/Legal Assistant Management and Business Management – Law School Bound. The tuition costs are lower than most Michigan universities.

The Legal Management program trains its students in skills like writing, analytical thinking, communication and leadership skills. The course broadly covers a number of business and legal subjects such as business policy, business law, legal research, case analysis and civil litigation. The program provides flexibility to its graduates who can go on to work in any business setting such as human resources, insurance and technology with legal departments due to the integration of law and business in the program.

The different career tracks of the Legal Management program at Lake Superior State University opens many professional avenues for its students. Professional possibilities include being

•A legal assistant who assists lawyers in performing their legal duties in a law firm or other legal department

•A legal administrator who looks after the overall management of the legal office in its financial plans, human resource management and information technology

•A paralegal assistant manager who supervises and trains legal assistants.

And of course a student can go on to complete a law degree and become a successful lawyer.
