Description
Fullerton College is located in the city of Fullerton in California, USA. It is the oldest community college in California, having been established in 1913. The enrollment at the college has grown from the original 28 students to nearly 20,000 students presently. Facilities at the college include a library with relevant law volumes, access to legal databases and a computer lab. The Department of Paralegal Studies of Fullerton College is a part of the Division of Business and Computer Information Systems. It offers a course that leads to a two year Associate of Science Degree in Paralegal Studies. After completing the course, students may transfer to a four-year bachelor’s degree or join the workforce as a legal assistant under the supervision of an attorney. Students who are studying for their Associate of Science Degree in Paralegal Studies must comply with the requirements of both Paralegal Studies courses and General Education courses. A degree is awarded to those students who complete 27 units of study of which 15 are from required courses and 12 units are chosen from the restrictive electives. Fullerton College also offers two certificate programs – a Legal Office Administration Certificate and a Paralegal Studies Certificate. The college has a high student transfer rate, standing 7th when it comes to students transferring to Universities of California or California State Universities.
