Description
Florence Darlington Technical College is situated in the city of Florence, South Carolina, USA. Over the past 40 years, it has been providing technical courses in more than 60 different fields. Currently, there are more than 4,000 regular students and 30,000 people in the Continuing Education Division of the college. The main campus consists of 8 major buildings. The college also has centers in Hartsville, Lake City and Mullins. The Paralegal Degree of Florence Darlington Technical College is offered through its Health and Sciences Division. Its main aim is to impart comprehensive technical education that trains students to work as legal assistants under the direct supervision of a licensed attorney. Paralegals may be appointed in law firms, corporate legal departments, insurance companies and government agencies. At Florence Darlington Technical College, budding paralegals are taught to interview clients, investigate the facts of cases, identify appropriate laws, draft legal documents and conduct research. They have to complete courses in litigation, personal injury, corporate law, criminal law, employee benefits, intellectual property, labor law, bankruptcy, immigration, family law and real estate. This program has been approved by American Bar Association. Applicants must have satisfactory ACT, COMPASS or SAT test scores for admission. To graduate students need to complete all required courses with a grade point average of 2.0. Courses may be pursued through regular day classes as well as through evening, weekend, online and other distance education formats.
