There are 59 institutions in the North Carolina Community College System. Fayetteville Technical Community College is one of them. This college offers over a hundred Associate Degrees, Diplomas and Certificate programs in various subjects. There are two-year Associate Degrees which guarantee a transfer to four-year colleges and universities. Certificate programs in vocational and technical areas provide the perfect base for securing employment.

In the area of Paralegal studies, there are two programs that the Fayetteville Technical Community College has to offer. One is the Associate in Applied Science Degree in Paralegal Technology which is a five semester course. You need to have a high school diploma to qualify for this program. The course extensively covers topics for the paralegal to be well versed in such as litigation, legal research, criminal law and investigations.

The other program is the Diploma in Paralegal Technology for which you need to have a Bachelor’s Degree as a prerequisite. The Diploma is a three semester course and it provides specialized training to give you a deeper insight into the paralegal profession. After completion of the program, you will be able to join as a paralegal in a private law firm, insurance company or government agency.

The Paralegal Technology program prepares you for a career as a legal assistant. You will be trained to perform legal duties such as investigating facts, drafting legal documents, and interviewing clients under the supervision of a lawyer.
