Fairleigh Dickinson University was established in 1942 and operates from its two campuses in New Jersey as well as from two others located in England and Canada. It is the largest private university in New Jersey. Classes are offered during the days, evenings as well as on weekends to offer more flexible schedules to its students. The institution has more than 10,000 full as well as part-time students. The College at Florham offers 35 programs of study whereas the main campus offers more than 50 academic programs. Faculty members are professionally qualified individuals who are dedicated and committed to their task of imparting knowledge. Students may also avail of financial aid packages such as grants, loans and scholarships. Students are trained to conduct Westlaw and Lexis/Nexis on-line research. It offers an American Bar Association program in paralegal studies as a non credit certificate program since 1988. Students can become professionally qualified Paralegals in as little as five months time. Students who need to take only specific courses may also do that. Refresher courses are available for practicing Paralegals to ensure that their knowledge and grasp of legal aspects stays current. Students take up these programs to be trained to work under the supervision of attorneys in private and public law firms. Some take up these programs to analyze if they have an aptitude for the legal profession. Some take up these courses to prepare for a Juris Doctorate degree etc.
