Duquesne University is situated in the city of Pittsburg Pennsylvania. It is one of the leading Catholic universities in America. The university was founded in 1878 by Spiritans. Over the last 128 years, Duquesne University has grown to 10 schools through which it offers bachelors, professional, masters and doctoral degrees in a variety of subjects. The Paralegal Program at Duquesne University has been created to offer practical skills in the paralegal field and enhance intellectual growth. It is a graduate level certificate program for which a previous bachelor's degree is necessary for admission. It was launched 20 years ago and has seen more than 1400 students graduate successfully. This Paralegal Program is approved by the American Bar Association. The Certificate has four options. They are General Practice, Corporate Law Concentration, Civil Litigation Concentration and Estates Concentration. Facilities for paralegal students at Duquesne University include an extensive law library, certificate options, a job bank and a placement program. Part-time, evening and full-time summer program options also exist. Certificate Options include General Practice, Corporate Law Concentration, Civil Litigation Concentration and Estates Concentration. The Core Curriculum consists of five courses that are offered once in every term while Elective courses are offered at least once every year. Core courses and electives or specialty courses can be taken at the same time. The general certificate comprises a total of 33 Continuing Education Units. The courses of this certificate are non credit courses and cannot be transferred to other degree programs.
