Description
Central Pennsylvania College is based in the city of Summerdale in the state of Pennsylvania, USA. It was founded in 1881 and offers baccalaureate degree programs as well as associate degrees in the fields of business, health, legal studies and information technology. Presently, there are around a thousand students enrolled at this residential college. Central Pennsylvania College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Residential accommodation is available in the form of on-campus apartments and townhouses. The Paralegal course offered by the college is a two-year Associate of Applied Sciences degree program designed to teach students how to apply law to real life situations. Students who work hard may earn their degree in as little as 18 months. For admission purposes, applicants need to have a minimum 2.0 GPA or C average. Class size is small and the faculty consists of well-qualified individuals who are legal professionals. The paralegal program consists of a total of 77 credit hours of course work. Courses include topics such as paralegalism, civil litigation, contracts, evidence and criminal law. Facilities at Central Pennsylvania College consist of a library with law books, computer labs and a computer-integrated courtroom where students learn through holding mock trials. This paralegal course has been approved by the American Bar Association since 1980. After completion of course work, students are provided with a professional internship to sharpen their legal skills.
