Description
Central Carolina Technical College is located at Sumter in South Carolina. The college offers an Associate in Public Service degree program with a Major in Paralegal studies. This program aims at qualifying students to perform duties as legal assistants to attorneys. Under the supervision of the attorney, paralegals can perform tasks such as preparing legal documents, investigation of facts and legal research. It is against the law for paralegals to practice law and represent clients. The Paralegal Associate Degree at Central Carolina Technical College is approved by the American Bar Association. It helps students gain expertise in legal subjects such as litigation, legal writing and property law. Upon completion of this program, students will be prepared to secure an entry-level position at a law firm, government or private corporations with legal departments. There are options of taking full time or part time courses, in the day or evening. To get admission in this program, students need to hold a high school diploma or equivalent. After that, they must maintain a “C” or higher grade in all their courses throughout the semesters. As a student of the Paralegal Associate Degree, students may be entitled to financial aid.
