Description
The Center for Advanced Legal Studies is based in the city of Houston, Texas. It was established in 1987 and specializes exclusively in the education of paralegals or legal assistants. It is located in central Houston’s Upper Kirby District where the cities leading law firms and corporate offices are located. This creates the right environment for its law courses. The Center for Advanced Legal Studies is accredited by the Commission on Occupational Education Institutions Division of Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The legal courses are approved by the American Bar Association. They are available through regular classroom learning as well as through online classes. The classrooms for regular classes are spacious. Facilities at the Center for Advanced Studies include a library and a computer lab. The library is stocked with the latest law books and has Westlaw® access while the computer lab has 24 Dell computers. The Center offers two paralegal programs - a Paralegal Certificate program for individuals who already have a previous Bachelor's Degree and an Associate of Applied Science Degree. Both programs are offered through regular classroom learning as well as through online learning. The Paralegal certificate program is 30 college semester credit hours. It can be earned in 7 months through full-time study and in 10 months if you study part-time. The Associates degree consists of 62 college semester credit hours. It can be completed in around 15 to 19 months.
