Description
Carteret Community College was established in 1963 at Morehead City in the state of North Carolina, USA. It is located on the shores of the beautiful Bogue Sound, which is part of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway. The college offers students more than 100 different courses for educational, technical and vocational programs. This includes subjects such as aquaculture, fine arts, firefighter training, hotel management and paralegal technology. The transfer curriculum of the college allows students to acquire an associate in arts or associate in science degree and transfer to a four-year institution. Currently, there are around 1,900 regular and 4,500 continuing education students enrolled at Carteret Community College. The college is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The Paralegal Technology curriculum at Carteret Community College prepares students to aid attorneys in probate work, investigations, public records search, drafting, filing legal documents, research and office management. Course work includes substantive and procedural legal knowledge in the areas of civil litigation, legal research and writing, real estate, family law, wills, estates, trusts, and commercial law. Students are also taught subjects such as English, mathematics and operating computers. The course is conducted over six semesters. It consists of 74 credit hours. After graduation, students have the opportunity to be employed with private law firms, governmental agencies, banks insurance agencies and other business organizations.
