Description
Brookdale Community College has been around for forty years now since its establishment in 1967. It is situated in Lincroft, New Jersey. It is sponsored by the residents of Monmouth County through the Board of Chosen Freeholders. The college offers associate degrees as well as non-credit courses and certificate programs. Since its foundation, the college has been growing steadily. The campus consists of 22 buildings, a Center for Visual Arts, a Student Life Center, ten fields for athletics and around sixty computer labs, among other things. Brookdale Community College offers an Associate in Applied Science degree program in Paralegal Studies which is approved by the American Bar Association. The program aims at training legal assistants. Paralegals are there to assist the lawyers with their cases and not practice law themselves as that is illegal. The A.A.S. degree program teaches a variety of topics to enable students to start their profession with sufficient training. The courses are taught by practicing attorneys. Students are taught basic principles of law and litigation. They are also provided training in legal research and writing, criminal procedures and computer applications in law. Students are made aware of legal ethics and procedures. They gain practical as well as theoretical knowledge from their professors. The Paralegal Studies Program offers full and part time as well as day and evening classes. The college has career placement services enabling students to get job placement immediately upon graduation.
